Handsome hats – building workshop

We will make a fantastic hat from a variety of white materials. The starting point for the design is the classic trichotomy: practical – symbolic – aesthetic. Can you picture a hat that would be completely impractical, but would look interesting? We can let our designs be inspired by the Alvar Aalto – Art and the Modern Form exhibition. The course is relaxed and humorous, and it is ideal as a recreational break in the middle of the working week, or as a night out for a group of friends. No previous experience of hats is required. Do not forget your camera! The course includes a short guided tour of the Alvar Aalto exhibition. The course will be led by the Master of Fine Arts and artist Vappu Rossi. Max. 15 adults. In Finnish.
The course fee is €34/21, including admission to the museum, guidance, materials, and coffee and tea. Tickets: holvi.com

Line play, undulating lines – portrait workshop

Draw a colleague or a friend in a way that you are not accustomed to, and be pleasantly surprised by the result! What kind of portrait do you create, if you cannot see what you are drawing? Or, if you cannot lift the pen from the paper and just have to continue the line despite the “errors”? Workshop participants will draw and paint in pairs, making a portrait study – prepare to be amused! The course is suitable for both beginners and more advanced artists. The course includes a short guided tour of the paintings in the Alvar Aalto – Art and the Modern Form exhibition, including Fernand Léger’s art. The course will be led by the Master of Fine Arts and artist Marjo Levlin. Max. 16 adults. In Finnish.
