- About Ateneum
The Helsinki-based dance theatre troupe ISIS will perform the premiere of its new HS. dance theatre performance in the Ateneum Hall this September. The performance describes the story of a sensitive yet determined girl who grows up to become a passionate artist.
The performance for family audiences is based on Helene Schjerfbeck's paintings and the periods of the artist's life behind them. HS. combines elements of music, theatre, dance, the visual arts, speech and documentary material from the artist's correspondence. The performance is written and directed by Liisa Isotalo with choreography and dance by Leena Gustavson, Riikka Siirala and Jyrki Haapala. The production team is international.
The script for the HS. dance theatre performance combines the Finnish, Swedish, German and English languages. The performance is suitable equally for those who are familiar with Schjerfbeck and her art and those who are new acquaintances. Following the performances at Ateneum, the dance theatre performance will tour Stockholm, Lund and Gothenburg in Sweden.
