- About Ateneum
is a mini-exhibition arranged side by side with the main Carl Larsson show. Two mothers and two daughters; a solitary woman; a single parent; a father, mother and two children... Just what makes up the Finnish family today?
This selection of nine families offers a limited but multi-faceted picture of everyday life in Finland. In the interviews, different families open up their lives to us: their thoughts, everyday events, special occasions, emotions and customs.
The photographs and interviews allow the visitor to 'drop in' on contemporary families in Finland to offset the predominantly idyllic picture given by the Carl Larsson exhibition of family life in Sweden around the end of the 19th century.
